NGL Studio Segments Include:
The Inheritance (Latinos History through the lens of Artifacts)
Spanish-speaking and indigenous Latino people have been living in the United States since long before the nation was established. And with them they’ve brought tradition, culture, and artifacts that are still integral to the foundation of America. This segment showcases notable artifacts introduced, used, and produced by our Latinx brothers and sisters throughout history while painting a picture of ingenuity, inspiration and deep roots. We’ll use these artifacts as springboards to take us into fascinating anecdotes of Latino contributions throughout American history.
Challenges – Essential Workers (Who they are, how they’ve contributed, and are shaping our future)
Latinos, with many essential jobs, have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19, but it hasn’t stopped us from contributing to our communities. In fact, it continues to be Latinos on the frontlines – the teachers, the nurses, the doctors, the farmworkers, the voters – that have been integral in maintaining a sense of normalcy in our communities during these trying times. From the Pulse Nightclub tragedy to the El Paso Shooting, Latinos have redefined what it means to be resilient and strong. Throughout history Latinos have contributed to the growth and progress of America, and now Latinos are shaping our future…
