Joe Bernard, Latinx Media Industry Veteran, Joins as Chief Revenue Officer

NGL Collective announced today that Latinx media industry veteran, Joe Bernard, will be joining the company as Chief Revenue Officer. Bernard will drive revenue and oversee the monetization and creation of new and existing lines of business within the organization. He will be based in NY and will report to NGL Collective’s CEO and Founder, David Chitel.  The new structure spearheaded by NGL Collective will consolidate NGL Media, a leader in the U.S. Latinx digital video marketing space, and NGL Studios, an in-house production team of master storytellers specializing in creating culturally-relevant branded entertainment for New Generation Latinx and multicultural audiences under one umbrella.

NGL Collective is a pioneer of new media and entertainment that connects advertisers and New Generation Latinos through video across platforms in-language, in-culture and in-context.  Long before it was considered the norm to connect with bilingual and bicultural U.S. Latinos, NGL was at the forefront of leading the conversation and blazing the trail for many who have since followed.  The term “New Generation Latino” or “NGL,” was first used by Chitel’s organization almost two decades ago and has stood the test of time above all others.

NGL Collective reflects the evolution of the U.S Latinx audience and the progressive ways in which they’re consuming media, content and the advertising that surrounds it all.  At a time of great uncertainly within the U.S. Latinx media space, NGL Collective continues to blaze a trail to help its advertiser partners engage Latinos at scale through video, be it branded content, programmatic, custom high impact OLV programs, social or original IP.

“Joining NGL Collective is a natural progression of my career path,” said CRO, Joe Bernard. “David and I have been traveling on a parallel path since we started in this business, and it’s especially gratifying to have the opportunity to not only continue growing NGL, but to drive a new narrative in the marketplace around our stellar offering and what we stand for.  NGL pioneered this space long before it was cool to do so, and I can’t wait to share some additional announcements we’ll be making in the near future.”

“Reaching today’s New Generation Latinx (NGL) audience requires a refreshed approach of in-language, in-culture and in-context media and entertainment,” said CEO & Founder, David Chitel. “At NGL Collective, we specialize in helping advertisers do just that through video regardless of medium, platform or language.  With the addition of my good friend and NGL pioneer, Joe Bernard, as our new Chief Revenue Officer I’m beyond excited about the next phase of our company’s growth.”

Prior to joining NGL Collective, Bernard was the Senior Vice President of Client Development for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises where he was responsible for developing advertiser relationships across NBCUniversal’s Hispanic Group portfolio including Telemundo Network, Universo and Telemundo Digital properties. He also served as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales for the Hispanic portfolio at NBCUniversal for nearly 15 years. Early in his career, Bernard held positions at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, Urban Latino and radio and production companies.
